Refugee Children
"At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked...
'Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?'
He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: 'I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.
Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come! If your hand or your foot causes you to sin cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.
See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.
What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.'"
(Matthew 18:1-14, NIV)
JESUS LOVES CHILDREN and He does not desire anything bad to happen to them. Yet, half of the world’s 43.7 million forcibly displaced people are children. Of the 15 million refugees worldwide, around half of them are children under the age of 18. It is estimated that about 15,000 of those children are unaccompanied or separated from their families.
Many organizations and churches have programs that reach out to adult refugees, but few are focusing on the needs of the children. These children are the present and the future and they have needs that must be met.
The vision and purpose of the RHP Children’s Focus Group is to bring like-minded organizations, churches, and individuals together

Prayer
Our vision is to have intercessors from nations around the world joining together to pray for a mighty movement of God among refugees everywhere.
This can happen in your home or church or in a location where refugees are.
We would love to send out teams of intercessors and establish God’s houses of prayer in strategic and key places on the Refugee Highway, to which people from all nations can come together to pray for refugees.
We pray for them as they enter and reside in their new locations. Let's pray that they find hope and a future in Jesus on their journey.
"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." Romans 12:12

Refugee Churches
Many followers of Jesus Christ can be found among the world's forcibly displaced people. They have experienced suffering, trauma and loss that has given them no choice but to flee their homes.
Some are internally displaced, sleeping in the bush or in overcrowed shanty towns trying to figure out what to do next. Many can be found stuck in the world's refugee camps. Others have risked long and dangerous journeys only to land in foreign jails or detention centers for asylum-seekers. Still others are sleeping on the streets of foreign countries hoping to ultimately reach a genuine place of refuge.
The Refugee Chuch
In all of these situations and circumstances, it is not uncommon to find vibrant refugee churches gathering to pray and worship together throughout the week. In many cases, they are also actively seeking to help fellow refugees - and even vulnerable people in their host country. Our forcibly displaced brothers and sisters are planting churches even while facing uncertainties about their own future. Like the early church, those who have been scattered are preaching the word wherever they go (Acts 8:4).
The RHP Refugee Church Focus Group
As an RHP Focus Group, we are seeking out and inviting refugee churches into the RHP as active and influential partners from whom we have much to learn. We are also working together to raise awareness among the church at large concerning our forcibly displaced brothers and sisters. And we're creating opportunities to gather together people, churches and agencies with a burden to encourage and assist the refugee church. We have much to learn from one another. Surely we can do more together than we can on our own.
Please contact us if you, your church or agency would like to be connected to this vital focus group.

Refugees are vulnerable to predators who want to take advantage of them and who promise jobs, security, and hope -- only to betray and sell them into a life of servitude. They are vulnerable in many areas including trafficking for sex or forced labor. Our group is currently focused on creating a forum to discuss the intersectionality of refugees and sex trafficking, how we can work together, and how to resource one another as we fight this issue and bring true hope -- Christ Jesus.
